Windows 10 is faster (for me), simpler and ordened. For those that prefer the mobile-like Start screen and it's associated Metro apps for their tablet or phone, it does that too. Haven't used 10 enough to make a proper judgement, and neither have many people here. This familiarity is an asset compared to Windows 8.1.
Amazingly, the ability to search your computer and network shares simultaneously is still missing. There are many who have tried it.. If you're still on Windows 7, you can safely upgrade without fear of losing the things you loved most about that OS and Windows 10 is certainly an improvement over Windows I really liked XP, but 7 is a significant improvement.
Whether microsoft provides support or not is not relevant.
