So I would like to get Windows running externally so I can try to rebuild the array instead of losing all my data. Assuming the USB drive boots correctly, the Windows 7 installer should start right up. how to resolve..? When it works, it's great. Check This Out

Make sure your drive is formatted as NTFS.3. In my own experience, I first used PWBoot on one of my Native VHD Windows 8 system, with a disaster result. It is highly worth the time and trouble.
