Everything now works fine. When I rebooted my laptop, I got the blue screen of death and couldn't get Windows to start, so I had to do a System Restore. Double click it, and change the value from 1 to 0. The VGA.SYS I know is.

Had no slowdown anymore since then, but I also installed all Intel related driver stuff (Intel inf, management drivers) and did all available Windows updates, so that could have helped, too.
