The only step left is to make sure you put in a couple of 32-bit EFI bootloader files, and make sure your bootloader (GRUB, etc) is Mixed Mode-aware. i.e. does it matter? Windows 7 64 bit with patchguard is practically immune to rootkits.
So unless you have 8+ GBs of RAM (and use it) you really should stick with 32bit. 3 GBs is enough for the average user. Although it’s rare it’s not unheard of to have a motherboard that will support an early 64-bit processor but not support more than 4GB of RAM. Sorry, can't help you with that.
